Annual Appeal
Dear Friend of the Library,
With your support, positive things happen at the Torrington Library:
Kids enjoying a Halloween story time!
Reading and literacy thrive and expand. Torrington children read over 6,000 books during the summer reading program, in partnership with the Mayor and the Superintendent of Schools.
Community partnerships accomplish more. We accomplished more through partnerships with local organizations including the Arts/Culture Commission, Community Family Literacy Center, Litchfield County Writers Project, LARC, Valerie Manor, Early Head Start, and more!
Events for all ages bring people together. Over 7,000 adults, young adults and children attended a diverse selection of programs including >From Hula-Hoops to High Fashion: G. Fox in the 1950s for adults, The Teddy Bear Sleepover for kids, and Salem Witch Trials: An Interactive Mystery Event.
We need your support. The city of Torrington's contribution to the library is only 77 cents per resident, one of the lowest in the state. You can keep the momentum going with your tax-deductible contribution.
