There are Christmas light displays and then there is "this" Christmas light display! For over three decades a little house on Main Street has been transformed by it owner into one of the most outrageous Christmas displays in Connecticut.
{watch-video}

Bringing about 20,000 visitors to Torrington each year and requiring 800 kilowatts of energy every night, the glowing "Christmas House" is a cross between an awesome attraction and what some would say is an eyesore. However, most would agree it is impossible not to feel ridiculously, excessively, wonderfully festive at this home.

Greeting visitors at the gate of his home with an offer of hot chocolate... "I do it to bring people into Torrington," explained owner Ron Merriman, the mastermind behind the town's famous light display. He has also started decorating for Thanksgiving, Valentine's Day and Halloween in recent years.
  • Address: 258 Main St, Torrington, CT
  • Admission: Donations Accepted
  • Hours: Inside from 6 pm to 9 pm. Outside: 6 pm to 11 pm
