Artists Statement: Abstract works have a life of their own -- they tell you what they need and want as they go along, and they are never finished with you. But you must impolitely walk away from time to time -- and they seem to never pick up where they left off... At some unknown stopping place, I choose to call them finished. {Website}{Artworks}{Exhibitions}{Price List}{Contact}

Artwell Education :: As described in the National Standards for Arts Education, arts education benefits both student and society. The arts cultivate the whole person, gradually building many kinds of literacy while developing intuition, reasoning, imagination, and dexterity into unique forms of expression and communication. Content for instruction at Artwell is derived primarily from the disciplines of aesthetics, art criticism, art history, and art production. Study is drawn from a broad range of the visual arts, including folk, applied, and fine arts from Western and non-Western cultures and from ancient to contemporary times.
Art Club for Kids
A working artist studio for kids ages 5-14
Sessions will start with drawing, and move on to projects that students/group members want to do. These will include sculpture, digital photography, painting, papier mache. You name it, we will do it!
Classroom Dates:
Ages: 5-14
Fees: $10 per session (cash or check ~ pay as you go)
Materials: Students need a sketchbook for the class. Artwell is seeking a grant for this program, we will be providing other supplies needed, but whenever possible we would like students to provide their own.
Artist in Residence: Jacob Aronow, Hartford Art School, BFA in Illustration, 2012. {bio}
Our goal → is to create an atmosphere of support, community and learning for young artists in the Northwest corner. Artwell has excellent classroom facilities, artist professionals and staff to support this unique learning experience. We will bring in guest artists for special projects. Students will work in a studio environment, second to none!
