The T-Town Chatter Cash Mob is a group of people, coordinated by J Timothy Quirk and other members of the T-Town Torrington Chatter Facebook Group, who vote for a local business each month and then assemble at that business to make purchases. The purpose of the mob is to support local businesses and benefit the overall community by encouraging Torrington commerce.

Members receive the benefit of praising their favorite businesses, exploring new business locations and benefiting their community. You can share the event with family and friends or use it as a social opportunity to make new acquaintances.

  • Step One: Nominate!
The first step is to decide on the next business you would like the Cash Mob to visit. Then send your nomination to: thecrayondiary@gmail.com.  NOTE: The Nomination process for January has ended!

  • Step Two:  Vote!
Once all the businesses are contacted -- the nominees that agree to participate will be featured on Torrington.INFO. We will also post the link where you can cast your vote (hosted by It's Happening Here). Voting will be for 3 days from 1/17 to 1/19 and is restricted to one vote per person.

  • Step Three: Join the Celebration!
The winner will be announced LIVE at 6pm on 1/20/2014 at the location of the last winner;  S/S Sweet Treats at 38 Main St., Torrington {map} -- giving the Mob one more opportunity to support the former winner.

  • Step Four:  Mob the Winner!
January's Cash Mob Event is between 1/25/2014 & 2/1/2014. So, gather your family and friends and visit the winner to make a purchase at anytime during the event. Don't forget to announce that you are part of the T-Town Torrington Chatter Cash Mob and get your numbered CASH MOB CARD (designed by artist and local newscaster; J Timothy Quirk).
If you can't attend the opening day of the event on January 25th you can still participate by making a purchase anytime during the event week. Just be sure to mention you are part of the Mob and ask for an event card. The card is custom designed by Artist; J Timothy Quirk and numbered so the Mob can track how many participate in this month's event.
